Why this workflow exists
A correct link is only half the job.
Google Analytics treats campaign values as written. Facebook, facebook, and fb can become separate rows, even when they refer to the same source. The URL still opens, so this kind of tracking debt often appears only after a campaign launches.
UTM Harbor checks the whole batch against one naming policy before export. The same rules can then audit links copied from ads, newsletters, partner sheets, and social posts.
- utm_source
- Who sent the visit, such as google or newsletter.
- utm_medium
- The channel type, such as cpc, email, or paid-social.
- utm_campaign
- The shared initiative name used to group related traffic.
- utm_content
- The creative, placement, or link variation.
Common questions
UTM campaign URL FAQ
Does UTM Harbor upload my URLs?
No. Generation, auditing, rules, history, and CSV creation run in your browser. There is no account or server upload.
Which parameters are required?
Google recommends always using utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign. UTM Harbor requires those three by default and supports campaign ID, source platform, term, and content.
What happens to existing query parameters?
They are preserved. When the same UTM key already exists, the generated value replaces it so the final URL has one value for that key.
Can it check whether a landing page is online?
No. Browser security rules prevent reliable availability checks across arbitrary sites. The audit checks URL and UTM structure, naming, and consistency.
